Founded in 1789 The county is named for General William Woodford, who was with General George Washington at Valley Forge. Its county seat is Versailles Woodford County is home to Woodford Reserve, the Kentucky Bourbon manufactured at the Labrot & Graham Distillery, which was established in 1812 and is the oldest Bourbon distillery in Kentucky.
