murder.

Woman
living
near
Alexandria
Louisiana
called
to the
door of
her
house
and her
body
riddled
with
shot.
One of
the most
dastardly
murders
ever
recorded
in the
annals
of
Louisiana
occurred
near
Oberlin,
about
fifty
miles
south of
this
place. A
Mrs.
Sonia
was
called
to her
door and
her body
riddled
with
shot.
She died
almost
instantly.
A clue
was
secured
concerning
the
identity
of the
murderer
and a
armed
posse is
searching
the
country
for him. |

Beaumont
were
held up
and
robbed
of money
and
jewelry
early
Friday
by a
lone
bandit
at
Kinder,
Allen
Parish.
Stopping
off at
Kinder
to
change
trains,
the men
were
confronted
by a
robber
while
walking
on the
tracks
near the
station.
After
obtaining
$53 in
currency,
a
diamond
ring and
a stick
pin, the
robber
escaped.Lake

Get
$12,000
from
Louisiana
Bank,
Beaumont,
TX Jan

Two
armed
robbers
secured
$12, 000
from the
branch
of
Calcasieu
National
Bank of
Lake
Charles,
at
Oakdale,
Louisiana
today.
Ray
Young
one of
the
tellers,
had just
opened
the bank
when he
was
covered
with a
revolver
and
ordered
to open
the
vault.
The bank
carries
$500,000
in
deposits
and the
fact
that the
main
funds
were
secured
in a
time
lock
safe,
which
does not
open
until 3
o'clock
prevented
the haul
from
being
larger.
The
robbers
escaped
in an
automobile. |

his head

nearby.
He was a
graduate
of the

Springs
training
school
of
November
1917.
His
father
is R H
Austin,
of
Oakdale,
La.
Captain
Austin
formerly
was a
lumberman
of
