News From Ascension Parish

Charming guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Berdon, are Mrs. Berdon's sister, Miss Celine Babin, of Donaldsonville, and her niece, Miss Mildred Pellerin, of Rosedale, La. These young ladies have been attending the State Teachers' Convention in Monroe, and will remain throughout this weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Berdon, who will have in addition to these guests, Superintendent L. Mrs. Guy Borunno, accompanied by Misses Alice and Jessie Mae Roberts. have left on a trip to Donaldsonville, where Mrs. Borunno will visit her .sister, Mrs.  Hays, and other relatives. The trio will visit at Morgan City, Franklin, and Baton Rouge, and expect to be gone for two weeks. July 1, 1893 Lafayette Advertiser
Act According to Their Faith. Donaldsonville has raised the quarantine against all places infected or not. The people of that town must have accepted the mosquito theory in all of its bearings. If the mosquitoes are the only methods of transmission, a quarantine against people and things certainly seems like a foolish transaction. Mrs. Henry Cooper and children of Donaldsonville, are guests of Mrs. Cooper's sister, Mrs. J. A. Shealy and Mr. Shealy for several days.  Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Vidrine and three children, stopped over in Ruston while enroute home to Oakdale, and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. McBride over the weekend.  Mrs. J. S. McBride is having the pleasure of a visit from her mother, Mrs. R. Virdine, of Oakdale.11/21/1936
Donaldsonville to take part in the wedding of their relative George Edwards to Miss Alline Thomasson on December 12 Mr. and Mrs. J C Love left last Sunday to return to their home at Waco Texas following a visit in the home of Mr. and Mrs. T L James Corinth Mr. and Mrs. E A Strong of Kilborne is visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J H Stephenson and other relatives here for a few days Those visiting Mr. and Mrs. J H Stephenson Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. W F Rogers and daughter Florence of Vienna.12/10/1936
