| Thomas Hensen, a
resident of the south portion of
Bienville parish, La., whose age is
101 years, rode 40 miles a few days
ago to attend court at Arcadia.
Herman Buck, is. out $1,500. He
invested in a gold mine which only
existed in the mind of the sharper who

| Miss Eva Hays of
this city, was married Monday
afternoon at four o'clock to Mr. E. H.
Fisher, superintendent of
Bienville schools. The marriage took
place in the church parlor of the The
First Methodist Church. with bishop
Hoyt M Dobbs as celebrant and shortly
after the ceremony Mr. And Mrs. Fisher
left for a wedding trip to the Ozark
Mountains. and on return will domicile
in Arcadia. The bride who is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J C Hays of
Ruston.has been a teacher in the
bienville schools for a number of
years and only recently having charge

| Miss Sarah Alice
Baker Bienville returned home today
after a visit of several days to
relatives here Miss Mamie Dacus of
Spearsville visited in Ruston the week
end and was the guest of Miss Hortense
Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Talley of son
were here yesterday to bring a number
of young people who plan to enter
school in this city for the ensuing
year. Miss Virginia Jordan of Bastrop
was among the girls who have re-
turned to Ruston and to reenter
