News From Bossier Parish

E. J. Pearce, Federal Prohibition agent for Shreveport district was found dead in bed early today. Pearce had been in ill health for some time, and had not completely recovered from a wound in his arm received December 18, when he raided a still near LeCompte. At the recent trial of Bossier City deputies for their alleged operation of stills, Pearce was the star witness for the government. He complained of the wound in his arm during the trial. His wife said that he was apparently feeling well when he retired  last night, but that when she awoke at 1 o'clock this morning she found him dead beside her.9/23/1931 Ruston Leader
Died at the home of her son in law Mrs. Numa Broussard, in Lafayette, La., Monday. April 24, a 10:00 p. m., Mrs. Theodule Hebert, Sr., aged 74 years and 11 months.
