Coffey Thursday Feb. 2nd 1889,In Memoriam
; Mrs. __________Coffey, of Dallas, Texas was born in Natchitoches
Parish, Louisiana March 6, 1851. The daughter of the late Dr. Butler,
cousin of ex governor Moore. She was connected with some of the most
prominent families of her native state. Something of the same and
generous, intelligent, upright dauntless spirit of the distinguished men
of her family bore her through many vicissitudes of a varied life.
Patience gentleness, tenderness characterized her as a wife and mother.
Her four grief stricken daughters and bereaved husband bewail the
wise counselor, the meek sympathizer , the companion,
constantly and unaffectedly cheerful and brave. Time and eternal
hope alone can console them. But for her the long years of physical
suffering are at an end. Her body rests in the grave but her spirit is of
the shining ones, hidden from our weeping eyes, for a brief season in the
glory of god. Dallas Morning News Feb 6, 1889
