St John Baptist Parish Deaths

 

Eugene Dumel a brilliant writer of the Meschacebe newspaper in St. John the Baptist Parish died today of yellow fever. No abatement of the fever on the coast. Daily Arkansas Gazette (Little Rock, AR) Friday, October 18, 1878; Issue 281; col C

Fell asleep in Jesus March 29th, 1879 Bro Frank Wilson. He was born July 15, 1848, in St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana and in 1870 joined the Clinton Street M E Church and remained faithful and useful member a highly esteemed servant of God. While we mourn his loss we bow in submission to the Divine will of our master. He leaves a dear mother, brothers and sisters, and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss, but to rest in assurance of reunion on the right plains of immortality. Sister Mary Antoine departed this life on the morning of March 30. She has been a member of the M E Church for many years. She died in full triumph of living faith A. Hilton St. John Baptist Parish, La Southwestern Christian Advocate Thursday, June 14, 1883; pg. 8; Issue 24; col A
