St. Martinville Messenger: At half-past one o'clock Tuesday afternoon Mr. Geo Greig, manager of the St John plantation, was the victim of a painful and serious accident. While superintending the working of the new mill that was being tried, in some way or other he got his foot caught in a cog wheel, which crushed it nearly off. The wound was so serious that amputation of the foot was necessary 12/5/1891 Lafayette Advertiser

 We acknowledge the receipt of an invitation to attend the wedding of Mr. Theobald J. LABBe to Miss Corinne M FLEMING (both of St. Martinsville), which happy event occurred at St. Martin's Church Wednesday evening, April 24th, 1889. The groom is a successful young druggist of St. Martinsville, and the bride is a beautiful young lady, well known and highly esteemed in our social circles. Several persons from this place attended the ceremony. The young couple have our kindest regard and very best wishes for their happiness and prosperity.
