JAMES CALVIN McCULLOUGH 16 Oct 1912 - 17 April 1989 Services for James Calvin "J.C." McCullough, 76, were held Wednesday, April 19, at 4 P.M. at Goodwill Church of God with the Revs. Merl Kennedy and Paul Hunter officiating. Interment followed in Red Wing Cemetery for Mr. McCullough who passed away Monday, April 17, in Delhi after a short illness. Services were under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove. Survivores include his wife, Mrs. Evelyn McCullough, of Oak Grove; three sons, Denvel McCullough of Ruston, Larry McCullough and Roger McCullough, both of Oak Grove; three daughters, Earline McDonald, Joan Worton and Brenda McKoin, all of Oak Grove; one sister, Isabel Smith of Oak Grove; eight granddaughters, six grandsons, and a number of neices and nephews and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Albert Nichols, Edgar Cagle, Alfred Rawls, Billy Bennett and Rufus Ross Jr.Honorary pallbearers were Ben Bennett, S.F. MILLS succumbs in Monroe, hold rites Monday Born 1892 Died 8 APRIL 1962 Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 P.M. from the First Baptist Church here for Mrs. Della A. Mills, 70, of Oak Grove, who died Sunday in a Monroe hospital. The Rev. J.D. Chetham, pastor, officated at the rites, interment was in Oak Grove under the direction of Gays Funeral Home Mrs. Mills is survied by two sons, Russel L. Thornton of Phenixville, Penn. and Corley W. Thornton of Aurora, Ill, three daughters, Mrs. Clara Motley and Mrs. Opal Dean of Haynesville, La and Mrs. Elsie Avery of New Orleans, La.; three brothers; George Erskine of Eros, La. Henry Erskine of Callion Ark., Monroe Erskine of Sikes, La. and one sister, Emma Hatten of West Monroe, La.; 16 grandchildren, and 14 greatgrand- children. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MRS. MARY J. MINOR 13 Sept. 1866 - 13 Feb. 1930 On February 20 it pleased God to send a convoy of angels to the home of Mrs. Mary Jane Minor and carry her home. Mrs. Minor leaves 3 daughters and 2 sons and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure. She was a true mother to all her children and a true friend to all who knew her. The ones who knew her best loved her most. She came to West Carroll when a child and saw the parish undergo considerable changes. She was 73 years of age. She accepted Christ as her savior when quite young and joined the Baptist Church and lived Christ until death. She was sick only a short while. She was laid to rest in the Oak Grove Cemetery, with Rev. McPhall of the Kilbourne Baptist Church officiating. May God comfort the family and all the bereaved. A friend of the family. W.S. Services were held Monday at 2 P.M. in Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Kilbourne Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pamela Myers, of Kalkaska, Mich., two sons, Justin Lee Myers of Eudora, Ark. Paul Austin Myers of Kalkaska, Mich.; father Leslie Myers of Picayune, Miss; mother Mrs. Dolly McNabb of Engleside, Texas; four brothers, Leslie Myers Jr. of Eudora, Ark. Dennis Myers of Walker, La., Don Myers of Oak Grove, La. and Norman Myers of Eudora, Ark. and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Perry of Shreveport, La.; Maternal grandmother, Mrs. Rader Lambert of Ruston, La. Myers, Jimmy Mack Myers, Gary Myers, David Walters, and John Paul Wynn. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mrs. Annie Eilzabeth Myers MAY 1951 Services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 O'clock from the Catron-Gay Chapel for Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Myers, 61, who died Friday at her home in Oak Grove. The Rev. Dan Green officated at the services and interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of Catron -Gay Funeral home. Surviving are two sons, Walter Seamans and Sedric Seamans, Oak Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Putman, Oak Grove, Mrs. Eunice Maxwell, Brookhaven, Miss.; four step-sons, Luther Myers, Epps, Hardy Myers, Oak Grove, Grady Myres, Charleston, S.C. and Leslie Myers, Epps; two step-daughters Mrs. Corine Wynn, Darnell, Mrs. Myrtis Walters, Oak Grove, and 15 grandchildren. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ David Norman Myers MARCH 1950 Last rites were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Catron-Gay Chapel for David Norman Myers, 70, who died at his home in Oak Grove, Friday. The Rev. Dan Green officiated at the ceremonies and interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of Catron- Gay Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Annie; three sons, J.H., Oak Grove, Grady, U.S. Navy, L.W. Epps;three step-sons; Walter Seaman and Cedric Seaman, Oak Grove and Luther Seaman, Epps; four daughters, Mrs. L.G. Wynn, Darnell, Mrs. Eunice Maxwell, Sontag, Miss, Mrs. M.W. Walters and Mrs Louise Putman of Oak Grove, 30 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Pete Hurley, Lucian Bonner, Jimmy Strong, Dick Borden, Leo Chapman and C.L. Pippens. NOTE: Luther Seaman, Epps should be Luther Myers, son.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- N ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Lula Orr 28 Nov 1870 - 22 Dec 1950 Final rites were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the Green Baptist church for Mrs. Lula Orr, 82, of Oak Grove, who died Friday at her home. The Rev. Dan Green and the Rev. W.W. fordham officiated at the services and interment was in the Redwing Cemetery under direction of Walters Funeral Home. Mrs. Orr is survived by one son, Tully of Oak Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Belle Applewhite of Bogalousa, Mrs. Mary Ethel Brown and Mrs. Erma Fowler of Oak Grove; three brothers; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Leonard Orr, William Orr, Waldo Dosher, J.A. Williamson, J.S. Berry Jr., and Glen Morris.
