WHERE TO SEARCH FOR INFORMATION

 line

Published in the H. A. G. S. Informer Vol. 21, No. 9

The table below can help you decided which records to search. It is most helpful for post 1800 research.
Column 1 find the goal you selected. Then find in Column 2 the types of records that are likely to have the information you need. Additional records that may also be useful are listed in Column 3. The terms used in columns 2 and 3 are the same as the subject headings in the locality section of the Family History Library Catalog. Records containing previous research (genealogy, biography, history, periodicals, and societies) could provide information for nearly all of the goals.
