When Miss Irvine Catterton of Paris, Md. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Catterton became the bride of Mr. Bill Bowen of Huntingtown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bowen. The ceremony was performed by Rev. R. B. Mark. The bride was attired in a blue crepe afternoon dress with matching accessories and wore a corsage of orchids, and snapdragons.

A quiet but pretty wedding took place at the Methodist Parsonage in Prince Frederick, Saturday, February 15th, at 8 P.M., when Miss Mildred Elizabeth Monnett daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Monnett of Adelina, became the bride of James Bowen of Barstow. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Melvin A. Baker. The bride was attired in an afternoon dress of Cadet Blue with matching accessories and wore a wreath of Orange blossoms. She carried pink snapdragons and sweet peas. Mrs. Hodges Monnett, sister-in-law of the bride was Matron of Honor and wore Old Rose gown with matching accessories. CLARKE - SIMMONS
A quiet, but lovely wedding, and one of interest to friends in Calvert County, took place on Saturday, March 14, when Miss Ruth H. Simmons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert S. Simmons of Port Republic, was married to Captain Edgar A. Clarke of the United States Army. The ceremony took place in the Chapel of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and was performed by Chaplain Pearce.

The bride was attired in a light blue afternoon dress with navy blue accessories and wore a corsage of carnations and talisman roses. She is a graduate of Calvert County High School and Strayer Business College. Captain Clarke is a graduate of West Point.

Captain and Mrs. Clarke are spending some tine in Florida and, upon their return, will reside at Fayettsville, North Carolina.

Prince Frederick, Md., Sept 26.- A lovely wedding took place this evening at 7 o'clock at Smithville Methodist Episcopal Church, Calvert County, when Miss Genevieve Griffith Moreland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Albert Moreland, of Dunkirk, became the bride of Mr. Millard Wilson Fowler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Fowler, of Owings. The Rev. O. C. Mitchell performed  the ceremony.

The bridle was given in marriage by her father, and wore a white satin gown, her tulle veil held in place with a wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of bride's roses. She was attended by Miss.Marjorie Plummer as maid of honor, who wore blue taffeta and carried Sweetheart roses.

The bridegroom's brother, Mr. Herbert Fowler, acted as best man, and :the ushers were Mr. William Wilkinson, Mr. Olen Lane, Mr. Lawrence Harrison and Mr. Thomas Sherbert. A reception for the members of the bridal party and families of the couple followed the ceremony and Mr. and Mrs. Fowler left on a trip to Niagara Falls. On their return they will reside at North Beach.

Lusbys, Md., July 3, - Mr. and Mrs. John Parran, of Calvert county, Md., announce the engagement of their daughter Ruth, to Mr. Copeland Ensign Gates, of Kingston, N. Y. Miss Parran is well known in Southern Maryland and New York, where she has many relatives and friends. Mr. Gates is a graduate of Cornell University, has been recently discharged from the United States Army, and is now engaged in business in Kingston, N. Y.  The wedding will take place in Calvert county in the autumn.

Miss Anna Laura Norfolk was maid of honor and wore an aqua afternoon dress with black accessories and a corsage of talisman roses. Private Robert Hance of Fort Meade, brother of the groom , was best man. Rev. G. D. Sampson performed the ceremony. The bride is a graduate of the Calvert County High School. After their honeymoon the happy couple will reside at the home of the groom while their home is being built at Port Republic where the groom is engaged in farming.
