ROBEY, URIAH:  Mr. Uriah Robey, a highly esteemed and one among the oldest residents of our county, died at "Johnsontown" the home of Perry Robey, his son, near Cox's Station, on Thursday morning after a brief illness, in the 80th year of his age.  Mr. Robey was first taken sick on Saturday last at which time he was compelled to take to his bed from which he never arose.  He was suffering with a complication of troubles that becoming aggravated by his extreme old age and his lack of vital force eventually caused his death.  The funeral will take place at 3 o'clock this afternoon and the interment will be at Newtown Methodist Church of which the deceased was a consistent and earnest member.  [SOURCE:  Port Tobacco Times and Charles County Advertiser, Port Tobacco, Maryland, 10 May 1889; MSA SC 3464, microfilm no.
