April 8 1773. Lately died, after a very short illness, the Rev. Mr. Thomas Alkin, Rector of St. John's Parish, Queen Anne Co.

BORDLEY, Mathias, aged 71, died 26 Oct. At Wye Island, Eastern Shore of Maryland. He had attained a taste for classical literature at Eaton College (National Intelligencer, 6 Nov. 1828, trans. by K. Torp)



CHEW, Philemon

March 22. Last Saturday [March 17 1770], between one and two o'clock p. m. died Mr. Philemon Chew of Queen Anne's County.

HARRIS

Centreville, Md., May 3

Caution to Horse-racers.
A man by the name of Harris, living near this place, on Thursday last, while running his horse for a small wager, attempted to make a short turn round a corner, which checking the speed of the horse too suddenly, threw the rider against the corner of the house, and such was the force of the fall, that the animal faculties of his life were immediately suspended and in a short time his existence terminate.

HOPPER, William and John TILLOTSON

April 16 1771 Since our last we have been informed of the death of Col. William Hopper and Mr. John Tillotson of Queen Anne Co. Both had formerly been representatives of the County.

LLOYD, Robert
July 19 1770. On Monday, 16th inst. died Robert Lloyd, Esq. of Queen Anne's County, Speaker of the Lower House of Assembly.

McCULLOH, Anthony
February 22 1770. On Sunday last [Feb. 18 1770] died at Queens Town, Queen Anne's Co., Mr. Anthony McCulloh, Merchant.
