CAPT. EBENEZER HART (John Jr. John, Samuel, Isaac)

born in Lynnfield, Nov. 15, 1762, third son of John Jr. and Lydia (Curtis) Hart; married at Danvers, Mass., Oct. 25, 1792, Polly Smith, daughter of Amos and Abigail (Hart) Smith of Danvers, his second cousin. Mr. Hart resided in Lynnfield and enlisted in the War of Revolution, Feb. 15, 1777, Capt.Winship's company, Fifth Massachusetts regiment, for three years. He was promote to sergeant and later captain of militia; was a member of the state legislature from 1806 to 1807 from what was then the north precinct of Lynn. He died Mar. 26, 1840, age 77 years. Polly died Oct 3, 1843 at age 77 and both are buried in West Burying Ground Lynnfield, Essex County, Mass.

was born December 3, 1799 in "Lynnefield" Lynn, Massachusetts New England, and died Aft. 1847 in "Lynnfield Lynn Massachusettes New England -- married twice. He married (1) MARY RICHARDSON April 15, 1824 in Massachusetts USA. He married (2) HARRIET DAVIS CLARK December 17, 1829 in Machias Maine USA. Mary died July 29, 1828 at 22 yrs of age and is buried in West Burying Ground, Lynnfield, MA

Mr. Hart resided on the old Hart farm in Lynnfield; his wife died Dec.23, 1873 & passed it to his son Henry Jackson Hart

The Tapley Tomb

Built in 1820 by Joseph Tapley whose house stands nearby at Lowell Street.
Restored in 1892 by David Hewes of California, a lineal descendant.
Originally 12 bodies. None remain. Records not known.
