Minneapolis is talking about erecting a $75,000 soldiers' monument.
Essex County, Massachusetts, has twenty-four G.A.R. posts, with a total membership of 3,893.

At a recent meeting of Major Boyd Post 151, G.A.R.  the following officers were elected:
Commander - Col. E.P. Stanwood
Senior vice commander - William A. Kennett
Junior vice commander - David E.N. Carleton
Officer of the day - Lawrence H. Bailey
Adjutant - Henry D. Lay
Quartermaster - Charles Bradley
Chaplain - John A. Bradley
Surgeon - James H. Willard
Inside sentinel - William H. Noble
Outside sentinel - Jeremiah Adams
Tuesday, Jan 10, the 35th anniversary of the organization of the post, will be celebrated by a supper and entertainment, to which the families of the members will be invited.
