Judges of the Consolidated Courts
1858

        

      The following executive appointments of Judges of the Consolidated Courts of Probate and Insolvency, were on Thursday confirmed by the Council:—

       

      Suffolk County—Isaac Ames of Boston

       

      Essex County—George F. Choate of Salem

       

      Middlesex County—William A. Richardson of Lowell

       

      Worcester County—Henry Chapin of Worcester

       

      Franklin County—Charles Matoon of Greenfield

       

      Bristol County—Edmund H. Bennet of Taunton

       

      Plymouth County—William H. Wood of Middleboro

       

      Barnstable County—Joseph M. Day of Barnstable

       

      Nanturket County—Edw. M. Gardner of Nantucket

       

      Dukes County—Thomas G. Mahew of Edergartown

       

      Hampden County—John Wells of Chicopoe

       

      Hampshire County—Thomas T. Layman of Northampton

       

      Mr. Ames is the present Judge of Insolvency for Suffolk County ; Mr. Richardson is the Judge of Probate for

      Middlesex; Mr. Matoon is the Register of Probate for Franklin ; Day is Register of Probate for Barnstable; Mr.

      Gardner is Judge of Insolvency for Nantucket ; and Mr. Mahew is Judge of Probate for Dukes. Messrs. Chapin,

      Choate, Bennet, and Wood, are new appointments.  The Berkshire appointment now alone hangs fire.
