Mrs. Markham Found Alive
While the funeral services over the supposed corpse of Mrs. Markham were in progress in Battle Creek, Michigan, the minister, relatives and congregation were horrified by a sound from the coffin and were almost paralyzed with surprise when a moment later the coffin lid was broken and Mrs. Markham found to be alive. It appears that she had suffered from concussion of the brain, and for two days was unconscious. (The Langston City Herald, Langston City, Oklahoma Territory, December 21, 1895)
