CLARENCE JOHN "TAFFY" ABEL
Professional Hockey Player. A native of Sault Sainte. Marie, Michigan, he played as a Defenseman for the New York Rangers from 1926 to 1929, and the Chicago Blackhawks from 1929 to 1934. In 1924 he played hockey for the United States during the Winter Olympics, and received the Silver Medal as the team came in second to the Canadian team. Part of the the 1928 Stanley Cup winning Rangers team and the 1934 Stanly Cup winning Blackhawks team, he was inducted posthumously into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame as a Player in 1973.
