The vessel "Toltec" was built by David Lester (J.H. Ihnken, Master Carpenter) at Marine City, MI in 1889.
First enrollment issued at Port Huron, MI on July 8, 1889. Rig changed to propeller at Port Huron, MI on April 16, 1890.
While bound on voyage from Montreal, Quebec for Buffalo, NY, fire was discovered in the engine room on September 4, 1919. Vessel beached three miles below Prescott, Ontario on the St. Lawrence River, and burned to a total loss. Crew was rescued by Canadian Government steamer "Alert".
