DANIEL W. DRAPER
Nothing he died suited his wife and because she attacked him at one time with a stove poker, Daniel W. Draper, local baker, was granted a divorce from his wife Gertrude Draper by Judge Orlen S. Cross in circuit court. Mrs. Draper did not contest the divorce. Draper testified that he had been unable in his 24 years of married life to please his wife and said he seemed to be in the way around his own home. Once his wife asked him "Why are you hanging around here where you are not wanted?" On another occassion when he was chastising one of his three children, she hit him on the head with with a poker requiring medical attention.
