PETER T. DeWITTE of St. Charles Illinois (Kane Co). A funeral Mass for Peter T. DeWitte, 94, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. John Neumann Church, 2900 E. Main St., St. Charles Illinois, with Monsignor Robert Hoffman, celebrant. Born May 7, 1908, in Norway, Mich., (Dickinson County) the son of Dominic and Leontine (nee VanWielle) DeWitte, he died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Rosewood Care Center, St. Charles. Burial will be in Union Cemetery St. Charles. During World War II, Mr. DeWitte served in the Army. He retired from DuKane Corporation in St. Charles after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Charles Moose Lodge #1368 and the American Legion Post #342. Peter was an avid bowler for Ray's Evergreen for many years, and was a member of St. John Neumann Church in St. Charles. Survivors include his sister, Margaret Cailliau of St. Charles; and his nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alphonse; and sisters, Anne Cailliau, Mary Armbruster and Elsie Gustafson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles, where a liturgical wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. (Published in the Chicago Suburban Daily Herald on 1/14/2003)
