Representative from Jackson County in
1850, was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., July 20, 1812. His
parents removed to
western New York in 1814.
He came to Grass Lake Michigan in 1837, but removed to Leoni in 1839, where
he kept a hotel. Later removed to Jackson and was a
justice for eight years. He
had a genial, happy
disposition, was a great humorist, and delighted in
entertaining friends with stories and anecdotes. He died
July 17, 1862.
