Began business career in the office of The Bradstreet Company at Grand Rapids, Mich.; as messenger boy, and was advanced to each desk in the office until promoted to superintendent, which position he filled for five years; next spent three years as special representative of the executive offices in New York City; represented the company for a year at Cincinnati, O, and Louisville, Ky.; has been in charge of the Detroit office since May 1, 1905. member for three years of Michigan National Guard (Custer Guard) at Grand rapids.
