Hello Kent County researchers. My name is Christine Walters . I'll be your "Temporary" County Co-ordinator and hang around here for awhile to watch over things until we find a permanent host for this county. The county seat is Grand Rapids. It is named for New York jurist and legal scholar James Kent, who represented Michigan Territory during the Toledo Strip dispute. This is one of the fastest growing counties in Lower Michigan so should be an interesting county to watch. Uncovering its rich history in the past should also prove interesting. If you have a pioneer family here, or if you have any information about this county, we do hope you'll share it with us and help us to make this website grow.
