Bright and clear the sun shone Thursday morning and 70 members of the Mattis-Lanning families appeared at the home of Geo. Mattis and wife for their ninth annual reunion. A picnic dinner was served under the tent, spread upon the lawn, and then, in the absence of the president and vice president, Earl Shandley was chosen president pro-tem. The meeting was called to order and a song by the members, "Blest be the tie that binds" was sung. Prayer was offered by David Galloway. The secretary's and treasurer's reports and resolutions were given.

Officers for 1916 were then chosen as follows: President, Leigh Brown: vice president, Winfield Lewis: secretary-treasurer, Lillie Harrison.

After this the following program was rendered: Song, Mrs. Cochrane and daughter; recitation, Johnnie Hammill; reading, Mary Brown: reading, Mary Brown: song, lone Westfall; recitation, Augrey Mattic; song, Sarah Turner; "God be with you" by members.

A committee of three, L. C. Harrison, Barlow Mattis and Mrs. Edith Van Valkenburg, was appointed to select a place for next reunion.

The boys and men played the usual ball game and others gathered in groups here and there for a social visit.

The sixth annual reunion was held at the pleasant farm home of Mr. and Mrs. C. Rathun near Sand Creek, August 20, there were 72 present. At noon dinner was served in the basement of the house. After dinner there was a short program, consisting of recitations by Mrs. Pearl Bowers, Miss Ethel Knickerbocker, Marle Rathbun, Louis Morse, Marie Shulters and Alton Bowers and a sone by Marie and Cassius Rathbun. Election of officers was as follows: President, Chan Rathbun: vice-president, A. D. Pratt; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Blanche Holmes; program committee, Mrs. Chan Rathbun, Miss Lillie Shulters, Miss Bevie Klink. After the election of officers and the program light refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Forster invited the company to meet with them next year, 1916.
