TREGEMBO, Elizabeth Jane , a former resident of Salisbury Location, died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Herbert Johnson in Wakefield. She was sixty-four years of age and made her home here from a number of years, being very well known to many local residents. The body was received here Tuesday from Wakefield and services were held that morning at Grace Episcopal Church. Interment was in the Ishpeming cemetery.

TREGEMBO, Mary Ann (Gluyas) , wife of William Tregembo, mining captain at the Lake Angeline Mine, died at her home late Tuesday. The deceased was sixty-for years of age and had long resided in this city. She was a Christian lady, possessing an endearing disposition and was loved by all who knew her. Funeral services were held from the Grace Episcopal Church Thursday afternoon and the attendance forcibly attested to the lady’s popularity.

TREGEMBO, Obadiah a well known Ishpeming mining man, died Monday morning at Carbondale, Kansas, where he had gone from Eveleth, Minnesota, to attend the funeral of a relative. He was taken suddenly ill with appendicitis, peritonitis set in, causing his death. The news of Captain Tregembo’s death came as a distinct shock to his relatives and friends here, as it was not known that he was ill. He was enjoying his usual good health when he left Eveleth last week. For a number of years Captain Tregembo was in charge of the underground work at the Lake Angeline Mine here, holding that position until the mine was closed down about two years ago. He remained in Ishpeming until just before the first of the year, when he left for Eveleth, to take a place with one of the mining companies operating there. He was well known in the Lake Angeline location, where he resided for many years, and he was highly respected by all the men who had ever worked under his direction. Captain Tregembo was a candidate for the office of mine inspector at the primary last August. This was the only time he was ever in politics. He was fifty seven years of age and is survived by a wife and daughter in England, a sister who lives here and his father, Captain William Tregembo, also of Ishpeming. He was a member of the Ishpeming Masonic Loge, the Sons of St. George and the Foresters. The body was received here yesterday and the Masons will have charge of the funeral which will take place this afternoon with church services.

2nd Obituary Captain Obadiah Tregembo, one of Ishpeming’s best known and most popular mining men, passed away Tuesday morning at 10:30 o’clock in Kansas City, MO., where he had gone a few days before to attend the funeral of a relative. Appendicitis, with which he was suddenly attacked complicated by peritonitis, was the cause of his death. News of his demise was a great shock to his many Ishpeming friends. Captain Tregembo was fifty-seven years of age, and had lived in Ishpeming for a long period of years. A mining man by profession, he was identified with the Pittsburg & Lake Angeline interests here for many years, and succeeded his father, Capt. William Tregembo. .. Captain at the Lake Angeline … (mine? .. torn, missing text) … practically retired from … (torn, missing text) .. when the property passed to the hands of the Cleveland Cliffs company several years ago and a few months ago he removed to Eveleth, Minn. Captain Tregembo was prominent in a business way and also politically. At the election last fall he was one of several candidates for the office of mine inspector and made a fine run, losing out, however, to the present incumbent, John T. Quine. Captain Tregembo was a man of fine presence and many sterling qualities. He had a great number of friends in this city and county, who sincerely regret his passing. The deceased was an active member of the various Masonic bodies in this county, and also belonged to the Sons of St. George and Forester societies. His remains are expected to arrive here today.

TREGEMBO, William Henry
On Saturday, May 4, at the family residence on South Angeline Street, Capt. Wm. Tregembo passed away at the good old age of eighty years. Capt. Tregembo was for thirty six years underground captain of the Lake Angeline Mine prior to which time he had work at the Lake Superior and the Salisbury Mines, being among the pioneers in their development. When he retired from his position at the Lake Angeline due to increased years and bodily ailments, he was succeeded by his son, Obadiah, whose death occurred last year while on a visit to Kansas. Capt. Tregembo was a high grade miner who worked at this vocation from boyhood, being employed in the mines of Cornwall before coming to America. He was a good citizen, considerate of the rights of those under him and was a great favorite. He leaves two daughters.
