CHANNING PETER BOYER - Visitation for Channing Peter Boyer, 47, will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine IL, when a memorial service will also be held. Born April 19, 1956, in Menominee, Mich., he died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at his mother's home in Inverness IL. Mr. Boyer was a former resident of Winnetka IL. He attended Menominee High School and Central Michigan University. On Feb. 29, 1984, he married Pamela J. Brubaker. He was a well known chef at several restaurants throughout his career, including Annie's North in Highland Park IL, the Racine Country Club in Racine, Wis., Fox River Brewing Company Fratello's Italian Cafe in Oshkosh, Wis., and Appleton, Wis., The Berghoff in Chicago, Meson Sabika in Naperville IL, and Alouette in Highwood IL. For several years he and his wife owned and operated a restaurant named Channings Restaurant in Racine. More recently, Mr. Boyer was executive chef of Brett Favre's Steakhouse in Green Bay, Wis., and was often seen on television demonstrating some of his specialties he developed over the years. Mr. Boyer comes from a family tradition of gourmet chefs, including his mother and grandfather. One of his brothers is also currently a chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in Maui, Hawaii. Most recently, Channing and his wife lived in Oshkosh, where he worked for Sodexho/Marion College as executive chef. Mr. Boyer's outside activities included fishing, hunting, and he was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, and well known and loved for his extraordinary poetry and impeccable taste in music.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Boyer; mother, Mary Ellis Sebstad of Inverness; siblings, Bradley X. Boyer of Lombard, Michelle Boyer and Joe Boyer Jr., both of Minneapolis, Minn., Cynthia Burns of New Castle, N.H., Jennefer Sebstad of Belmont, Mass., Susan Quinn of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Brendan Sebstad of Kihei, Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Louis Boyer, and a longtime friend and stepfather, Bradford J. Sebstad.

HERMAN RICHARD BRUKARDT , 91, a former Menominee, Mi. resident who had been living at 801 Mallard way in Marinette, passed away on Monday, Jan. 16 at home. Born Oct. 11, 1914 in Escanaba, he was the son of the late Herman and Dorthea (Themel) Brukardt. He graduated from Menominee High School Class of 1932 and later graduated from the former Marquette University Medical School in Milwaukee, class of 1940. He served in the United States Navy during World War II assigned to the 2nd Marine Corp. Division in the South Pacific on the Islands of Tarawa, Saipan and Tinian. On July 30, 1945 he married the former Ruth "Bienie" Bienstadt in Minneapolis, Mn.

Serving the local community as a medical doctor he had a private practice from 1946 until he retired in 1989. For most of his career he worked out of the Brukardt building on 1st Street in Menominee. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee and a member of the Emergency Rescue Squad Board of Directors for over 40 years, a past president of the Menominee School Board and also volunteered as the Menominee High School football team doctor for many years. He was a member of Riverside Country Club and the Menominee and Marinette Twin-C's. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Jim (Judy) Legat of St. Charles, Ill., Mrs. Dave (Kathy) Beach of Sherwood, Ore., Mrs. Stewart (Barbara) Lundgren of Menominee, Mi. and Mrs. Duke (Janet) Dahmen of Naperville, Ill. and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dorothy and Betty. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Menominee, Mi. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Rev. Douglas Schoen will officiate. Cadieu Funeral Home, Menominee, Mi is serving the family.

JUDITH A. BURNHAM - Memorial services for Judith A. Burnham, 59, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at St. Peter United Church of Christ, 47 Church St., Lake Zurich. Born April 23, 1943, in Hastings, Mich., (Barry Co) she died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, in Chicago. Interment will be private. Mrs. Burnham graduated from Michigan State University in 1965. She was a dedicated teacher, teaching overseas in Singapore and for the past 14 years at Woodlands School District #50 in Grayslake. Survivors include her husband, John C. Burnham of Lake Zurich; children, Andrew C. (Ritu) Burnham of Chicago, Jeffrey C. (Melisa L.) Burnham of Michigan and Michael E. (Traci L.) Burnham of Elmhurst; brother, Thomas E. (Donna) Pugh; mother, Jeanette Pugh; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Dewayne Pugh.
