The Reinoldt family, Lewis and Polly Reinoldt, my grandparents, came to Grant and settled in Ashland Township. They were farmers and raised lots of fruit. Lewis and Polly had eight children who were, Fred (my father) Jim,John,Frank Lewis, Morris, Pete and Mary. My father Fred married Cora Bell and they had two daughters, Lena and me, Millie. I was born in September 1895 in a small house where Ruth and Dale Henry live today.

I married Glen Dougan and had five children. Millard, Marguerite, Betty, Leonard, and Mildred (peggy) .Margueite was married to Carence Ching of the Baily area. Peggy married Bill Myrick, son of Mr and Mrs Homer Myrick of Grant. and they now live in Cheyenne Wyoming. Peggy is the only one of our five children who is still living.

Ive been living at the Newaygo County Medical Facility near Fremont for several years and my husband Glen lives alone out on the farm located one-half mile from the former Patterson school. (Submitted by Millie Dougan)
