Fred S. Brooks

Fire insurance adjuster; born on farm in Oakland Co., Mich., Nov. 18,1856; son of Alexander Simpson and Amanda (Leonard) Brooks; educated in country school until 1874 and two years at State Normal School, Ypsilanti, Mich.; unmarried. Taught country school three winters; began in fire insurance business in Missouri, 1884; after two years' experience in local office, went on road traveling as state agent and adjuster, continuing for various companies for seventeen years; has maintained office in Detroit as independent adjuster since July, 1900. Republican. Congregationalist. Recreations: Golf, billiards. Office 502 Whitney Bldg. Residence: 51 Alexandrine Av.
