JACKSON, Andrew
Representative from Cheboygan, Mackinac, Chippewa aud Schoolcraft counties in 1879, was born Oct. 99, 1844, in Henry county, Ohio; received a high school education at Toledo; entered the army in 1801; was promoted gradually to the rank of 1st lieutenant and adjutant, and resigned on account of wounds in Aug., 1803. He re-enlisted as private in 1804, and served through the war, receiving the rank of brevet major. In 1872 he removed from Louisville, Ky., to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. He was chairman of the board of supervisors in 1877. Occupation, government and railroad contractor. Politics democratic.
