During the last two years he has lived a retired life in Yale, in the midst of his friends. For a number of years he has entertained a strong, desire to know his God in the forgiveness of his sins, and it was his good fortune during the last few months to have the witness of his acceptance with God. Even during his last illness he gladdened the hearts of those who were near by saying, "I was a great sinner, but Jesus saved me''. He often expressed a desire to live nearer to Him. He was a great sufferer and he has gone to his reward. Funeral services were held in the Brick Chapel on Monday, Nov. 7 by Elds. R. M. Dodd and J. A. Avery. Interment was made in Elmwood cemetery.
