RAPLEY, Hilton Lewis , 83, of Lynn Township died at Port Huron Hospital Saturday October 2, 1999. He has been in failing health for several years and a patient for a week. Hilton was born October 3, 1915 in Lynn Township the son of the former Fred and Elizabeth Hodgins Rapley. His marriage to Helen Tice was in Yale September 24, 1938. He was a lifelong area farmer, a graduate of Yale High School in 1933 and member of Cole United Methodist Church. Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years, Helen and his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ronald Doederlein of Waterford; four grandchildren, James (Vicki) and David (Fami) Doederlein, Shawn Rapley and Rachel (Alan) Thompson; 11 great-grandchildren; his brothers William (Marion) and Jack (Olive) all of Yale and sisters Katherine (Sylvester) Krupa of Troy and Mildred (Kenneth) Loding of Applegate. He is preceded in death by a son Howard May 4, 1986 and a brother Frederick and his wife Nora. In appreciation of his life, family and friends, a funeral service will be shared at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. Rev, Hal Phillips pastor of Capac United Methodist Churches and Rev. Pat Robbins, pastor of Cole United Methodist Church will officiate and tradi­tional graveside services will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Yale. Memorials are suggested to Cole United Methodist Church or Visiting Nurse Association.

RAPLEY, Helen Marjorie ,85, of Lynn Township, died Wednesday September 20, 2000 at Mercy Hospital, Port Huron where she had been a patient for 10 days. She was born July 11, 1915 in Lynn Township, St. Clair County the daughter of the former Saul and Cora Ferguson Tice. She graduated from Eastern High School, Detroit in 1933 and returned to Lynn Township. Helen married Hilton L. Rapley in Yale September 24, 1938 with Jessie Molesworth and Herb Barr as attendants. Hilton died October 2, 1999. She had worked at Hamill Manufacturing in Yale for 15 years and retired with Hilton from farming in 1969. She was an active member of Cole United Methodist Church. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law Mary and Ronald Doederlein of Lynn Township and grandsons James and (Vicki), David and (Fami) and granddaughters Shawn and (David) Fuller and Rachel and (Alan) Thompson; and 11 great-grandchildren and many friends. She is preceded in death by her son Howard Rapley May 4, 1986, four brothers and two sisters. A funeral ceremony in appreciation of the life, family and friends of Helen will be Saturday 11:00 A.M. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale, with committal services at Elmwood Cemetery, Yale. Rev. Hal Phillips, pastor of Capac United Methodist Church and Rev. Debbie Brown, pastor of Cole United Methodist Church, will officiate.
