Life insurance; born, Ann Arbor, Mich., Nov. 8, 1862; son of Benjamin F. and Evaline (Webster) Watts; educated in public and high schools of Ann Arbor; married at Ann Arbor, June 24, 1i886, Carrie B. Benham. Was engaged in jewelry business at Ann Arbor until 1896, when he became connected with New York Life Insurance Co.; removed to Detroit as solicitor for the company, 1898; was promoted to agency director, at Portland, Ore., 1901, served in same capacity at Utica, N. Y., and since 1904 has been in charge at Detroit. Member Co. A, First Regiment, Michigan National Guard, for nine years, attaining rank of lieutenant and battalion adjutant; was deputy postmaster at Ann Arbor four and one-half years. Republican. Episcopalian.
