HENRY P. BORGMAN

BORGMAN, Henry P., banking; born, Detroit, Mar. 13, 1865; son of Charles H. and Pauline (Purlier) Borgman; educated in public schools, 1871-74, German-American Seminary, 1874-80, Goldsmith's Business College, 1880-81; married at Detroit, Nov. 20, 1889, Anna Kremer. Left school to became clerk in law office, continuing for three months; was bookkeeper for Robinson Bros., wholesale liquors, for three years, then worked at carpenter trade three months, at the end of which time returned to office employment; after an experience of one year in insurance office, became connected with State Savings Bank, June 20, 1885, and has since been cashier of the savings department. Also secretary and treasurer McLaughlin Bros. Real Estate Co.; secretary Valpey Shoe Co., Ltd.; vice president Springwells Brick Co. Served for six years in Michigan National Guard. Clubs: Bankers', Detroit Yacht, Harmonie Society (treasurer). Office: The People's State Bank. Residence: 132 Horton Av.
