EDWIN S. GEORGE
Edwin S. George, furrier; born, Slatington, Pa., Sept. 23, 1873; son of Manno D. and Abigail (Hamm) George; educated in public schools of Morenci, Mich., and Fayette Normal School; married at Detroit, Sept. 5, 1899, Bessie Scotten. Came to Detroit, 1890, and entered employ of Annis & Miller, furriers; on dissolution of the firm he continued in the fur business with the junior partner, William H. Miller, continuing until March, 1897, when he began alone; soon after bought out the business of Walter Buhl & Co. and consolidated it with his own, and continues as wholesale and retailer dealer, importer and exporter of furs. Also proprietor of Standard Auto Co. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Republican. Presbyterian. Mason. Clubs: Detroit, Old Club, Country, Detroit Boat, Automobile Club of Detroit. Recreations: Automobiling and farming. Office: 172 Jefferson Av. Residence: 221 Vinewood Av.
