TRAUB, Christian Matthew, jeweler; born, Wuertenberg, Germany, July 22, 1837; son of Matthew and Johanna (Rauscherin) Traub; came to America, 1848; educated in public schools of Ann Arbor, Mich.; married at Ann Arbor, 1861, Barbara Bross. Began active career, 1850, by assisting his brother in the jewelry business, firm started independently as Traub Bros., in 1857; moved to present quarters, 118 Woodward Av., in 1879.
