My name is
Don King and as your Wayne County Michigan host I try to post as much data
online as possible in order to make it freely available to all. We
gratefully accept contributions of raw data such as census information,
marriage/birth/death records, obituaries, county histories, biographies,
old newspaper items - anything that would help someone build their family
tree!! |
| Wayne County was created in 1815, it is Michigan's only original charter county, named for General Anthony Wayne. It is one of 83 Counties in Michigan, the county seat is Detroit. Wayne County is the 11th largest county in the Nation by population. This is a very unique, very old, historic county with enough history to keep us busy for years. Wayne County has 28 Historic Districts, there are 81 known cemeteries, 61 Libraries, and at least 14 Colleges. The major ancestory group of Wayne County is African American - 42%, followed by those of German origin at 11%. |
