Graduating Exercises at the Mankato School.
Special to the Globe.
Mankato, Minn., March 21. - The normal graduating class of 1891 have elected the following officers: President, J. Milton Davis, Courtland, Minn.; secretary, Stella Porter, Vernon Center; poet, Maidie Davis, Madelia; orator, Wells A. Ruble, Kasota; historian, Hattie Noble; songstress; Effie Warner, Garden City; Prophetess, Lizzie E. Coleman, Pine Island. The following are the eleven who had the best averages and were appointed to appear on the commencement programme: George Sudgden, Alma City; James W. True, Westford; John O. Johnson, Madelia; Kate Hovey, Worthington; Jean Latham, Waseca; Adda E. Hill, Medo; Carrie Bachtle, Easton; J. M. Davis, Courtland; Gertrude C. Drake, Nicollet; Guy Livingston, Center Chain, and John T. McBroome, Sherman. The graduating class numbers forty this year.

MANKATO, Minn., Oct. 29.-The Southern Minnesota Teachers' association met in the state normal school building in this city and completed an organization. One hundred and fifty teachers and principals were present, including the corps of the teachers and Principals Critchett of New Ulm, Schwartz of Albert Lea, Farmer of Windom, Hubbard of Waseca, Porter of Worthington. State High School Inspector Alton was also present. The session continues three days.
