SAYS HE CAME BY IT HONESTLY (Eli Pearce)

Deputy Sheriff Murrell returned yesterday from North Branch, Minn., with Eli Pearce, charged with stealing cedar posts and when arraigned in municipal court he was released on his own recognizance. Bearce claims that he purchased the stumpage for the cedar of Mitchell & McClure and that he can easily prove that such is the case. [Pearce or Bearce]
