At the monthly meeting of the board of county commissioners it was decided to erect a new courthouse. This decision marked the culmination of the schoolhouse-courthouse fight in Clearwater county, as the old school building, which was to have been traded for the courthouse site and $10,000, was alleged to have been undesirable. This means that a new high school building also will be built. The school board withdrew its offer on account of the urgent need of a new building.
