County Information
Established: February 20, 1855
Prior to county establishment, the area was a common hunting and battle ground for the Mdewakanton Sioux, often fighting the Sauk and Fox Indians.
Named for: Henry Dodge, governor of Wisconsin, and his son, Augustus C. Dodge, U.S. senator from Iowa
Dodge County is the only county in the state that does not have a lake.
County Seat: Mantorville
