Civil War Soldiers and News

T. G. Ricker
Source: The National Tribune (Washington DC) July 7, 1910; transcribed by Mary Kay Krogman

T. G. Ricker, Halma, Minn., says that he is 77 years old, and served three years and nine months in the Tenth Corps. He is glad of the way that we go for Gens. Butler and Gillmore. He was wounded at Chapin's Farm, where his Captain, commanding the regiment, was killed. Comrade Ricker's father was a soldier, his grandfather served seven years in the Revolution, while his greatuncle, Robert Ricker, was with Paul Jones, and lived until he was 104 years old.
