Cornelius White celebrated his eighty-fourth birthday Saturday. Although he is in poor health he enjoyed all the pleasant reminders and counts among the choicest the cane given to him by Miss Kennedy and pupils. The teacher and children, numbering twenty-five, planned and carried out a surprise Monday after school, when they called at his home and wished him many happy returns of the day and presented him with a beautiful cane.
