Minnesota Wheat Wizard Wins National Honors

Thief River Falls, Nov. 4. -- (Special.) -- Orton Olson, of the Minneapolis farm, east of this city, has recently captured national honors for his showing of Marquis Wheat, taking the blue ribbon first at the Minnesota State Fair and more recently at the Tristate Fair in Superior.

Mr. Olson won national renown as a wheat wizard when he took first prize at the Central States Fair and exposition at Aurora, Ill., his achievement being all the more creditable when it is remembered that he won all Marquis wheat samples from Montana, which state won the world's championship at Chicago last winter.

The wheat king has in his possession a beautiful loving cup as a championship trophy, as well as a string of blue ribbons and diplomas. He is now showing at Wichita, Kansas and San Antonio, Texas, thus spreading far and wide the fame of Pennington County and the Red River Valley.
