Mankato, Minn., July 1 – County Attorney Clarence E. Ballard of Wadena county and Miss Lillian L. Blake were married at the Congregational church. Reception followed. The church was handsomely decorated, and was attended by a large number of invited guests. [wording slightly changed to accommodate news of just this wedding – article referred to two weddings, but the other was not related to Wadena Co.]

Chesnut - Burch

Wadena, Minn. – The marriage of Miss Edna Teresa Burch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Burch and Edward Thomas Chesnut, superintendent of the public schools at Perham, was solemnized at St. Ann’s church in this city. Immediately following the ceremony there was a reception to the bride and groom at the home of the parents.

Motley, Minn., Feb. 1. – Stanley Davis of Duluth, employed here by the Northern Pacific railway, and Mrs. Flora Nelson of Motley were married at Wadena, according to news received here today.

Verndale, Minn. – The marriage of Miss Marie Petitt, of Verndale and Robert Hinkel of Crosby, will be solemnized at 9 o’clock Sunday morning at the bride’s home in Verndale. The wedding will be strictly private. Rev. Waters of Verndale, will be the officiating clergyman.

Ireland - Osborn

Verndale, Minn. – At the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Osborn, about two miles east of Verndale, the marriage of their daughter Mable to Newman F. Ireland of this village took place. The ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Waters, was witnessed by only the immediate relatives of the contracting parties.

Miller-Blinn. At Brainerd, Saturday, July 12, by the Rev. Herbert Root, rector of St. Paul's Parish, John K. Miller, Esq., of Wadena, and Miss Clara T. Blinn, of Minneapolis.

Mrs. Miller, nee Miss Blinn, is one of an old and respected family of Minneapolis and a niece of Mrs. Herron, of this village, with whom she has been on a visit for the past few weeks. She is a young lady of accomplishments, has made many friends since her stay here, and we gladly welcome her to the society of Wadena. Mr. Miller is of the well-known hardware firm of Miller & Foss, of this village, and formerly from Minneapolis. He is a gentleman of sterling business ability and worth, highly esteemed by all who know him. It is with pleasure we hail John's arrival to complete manhood and, though he kinder took us by surprise, we forgive him this time, and extend to him and his fair young bride our hearty congratulations and best wishes for future happiness.

May your troubles be few and light, John, your grocery bills likewise;
May your path be strewn with roses, Clara, and full of sweet surprise.

Ormsby - Henderson

VERNDALE, MINN. - Henry J. Ormsby, Black River Falls, and Mrs. Grace M. Henderson of Verndale, Minn., were united in marriage in St. Paul. For a number of years Mr. Ormsby was connected with the federal government; for 14 years he was a postoffice inspector and at the time he resigned from the service, July 1, 1911 he was connected with the Chicago division of postoffice inspects.


Paarmann - Robinson

WADENA, Minn., March 14. – The marriage of Miss Angie Ida Robinson and Emil Paarmann, took place Monday at the Methodist parsonage, Rev. J. C. Craig officiating. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Lillian Robinson and William Paarmann was groomsman. Mr. and Mrs. Paarmann will reside near Wadena.


Pettit - Myers

John D. Myers of Wadena, Minn., has announced the marriage of his daughter, Sarah Estella, to Lynn H. Pettit, formerly of Duluth, which took place Wednesday night at Wadena. Mr. and Mrs. Pettit will make their home at Verndale, Minn., after Feb. 1.


Pregner - Van Horn

HAS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY.
Niles, Mich., Dec. 21. - George H. Pregner, a wealthy farmer, living near Three Oaks, advertised for a wife in a Chicago matrimonial journal. He agreed to give the young woman who would become his wife a 200-acre farm and $5,000 in cash. Friday morning Pregner was united in marriage to Miss Edith Van Horn of Kindred, Minn. Miss Van Horn is 21 years of age, while Pregner is hale and hearty at 72 and has the record of having divorced three wives.

Miss Anna Grace Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Robinson, will be married tomorrow evening to Edward D. Rank. The ceremony will take place at the residence of the bride’s parents at 7:30 before only the immediate friends and will be followed by a large reception. After an eastern wedding journey, Mr. Rank will be at home with his bride at Wadena.

STAPLES, MINN - Sophia Holler of this place and Wm. Robinson of Belfield, N. D., were married in the Methodist Episcopal church, Rev. Mr. Dodds officiating. After the ceremony at the church they repaired to the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Holler, where the wedding dinner was served.


Schertler - Thill

WADENA, Minn., June 6. – Miss Mabel Thill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thill, and Theodore Schertler were married at St. Ann’s Catholic church at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning by Rev. Father Lenger. Miss Rose Thill, sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid and John Theisen was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Schertler left for a short trip and will make their home in this city.
