J. O. Metcalf, a Justice of the Peace, was found dead in his room in Natchez last Sunday night. Death was caused by stricture of the esophagus.

January 20, 1881

A report from Natchez says the body of Frank Mallery, the mail carrier between Rosefield and Harrisburg, who has been missing since Jan. 6, has been found riddled with bullets.
