We welcome all contributions.  Please send any data submissions to me for inclusion on the site.

Our goal is to help you track your ancestors through time by transcribing genealogical and historical data for the free use of all researchers.

We regret that we are unable to perform personal research for folks.  We are busily transcribing new data for this and many other county sites!

We endeavor to add all data we come across to this site.
We thank you for visiting, and hope you'll come back again to view the updates we make to this site.

Adams County was created on April 2, 1799, from part of Pickering Territorial County. It was the first county to be organized in the Mississippi Territory, eighteen years before Mississippi became a state. It is named in honor of the second President of the United States, John Adams.

Four Mississippi governors have hailed from Adams County: David Holmes, George Poindexter, John A. Quitman, and Gerard Brandon

The county seat is Natchez
Natchez was founded in 1716, and is the oldest city on the Mississippi River.  It has received the prestigious federal designation as a Preserve America Community.

Volunteers Greatly Appreciated!
If you have a love for history, a desire to help others, and basic web-authoring skills, consider joining us!

Get the details on our Volunteer Page.
[A desire to transcribe data and knowledge of how to make a basic webpage is required.  However, we are willing to help you learn, and if you can use Word, you can do this!  :) ]

If hosting isn't for you, we can still use your help in other ways.  Even contributions of transcribed newspaper announcements and items of that nature are extremely helpful!  Please review the information for volunteers to see how else you can make a difference.

As always, your communities thank you!

Happy Trails!
