Welcome to Calhoun County, Mississippi Genealogy Trails
On June 8, 1852 Calhoun County was established and named after United States Vice President and Senator from South Carolina John C. Calhoun. Pittsboro serves as the county seat.
This site is available for hosting! We'll be doing the best we can to create a website that you will find helpful, useful and meaningful as you trace the trails of your ancestors through Calhoun County until a permanent host can be found. We are sorry that we can't do any individual research for you, but if your ancestor left a footprint in this county we'll do everything possible to add information to this site that will help you find them
Being a brand new website we are in need of
If you can't be a County Host, that's okay, you can still be a great deal of help. We need volunteers who will ferret out County History of any kind. People who will find interesting documents to transcribe and email to us. We are looking for information such as Biographies, Deaths, Births and Marriages and Obituaries and any "raw data" that folks can use to build their family trees.
