Obit in the Mississippi Messenger of Jan. 21, 1921 has him dying on at the base hospital in Auton, France on Dec. 13, 1918. His body was brought back to the US and brought to Shubuta and buried at the Hepzibah Cemetery Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with one of the largest crowds ever at the Hepzibah Cemetery. He served with Co. B 114 Military Police. Rev. A. R. Willett and DR. W. H. Huntly conducted the services.
