6 Miles North-West of Shubuta, (down the road from Hepzibah Church on the Toney Estate)

Cemetery is in poor shape and in need of upkeep. Trees growing around tombstones.
A fence encloses the Patton graves and is fallen down on one side. No grave markers, just one monument with names listed of
the four sides.

James J. Patton; Born Aug. 23, 1822 - Died June 2, 1962
"Tis the Lord who hath benefit us of the one we loved to sell"
Luella R.; Daughter of J.J. & S.A. Patton. Born Oct. 3, 1861 - Died Oct. 2, 1867
"Twas hard to give thee up but they will of God be done"
Sarah A.; wife of J.J. Patton, Born June 10, 1826 - Died July 6, 1870
"She was a tender mother here, And in her life the lord did fear"
Margaret D.; daughter of J.J. & S.A. Patton
Born Mar. 9, 1857 - Died Oct. 12, 1872
"We trust our loss will be her gain and that with Christ she’s gone to reign."
*Note James J. Patton was the father of William Hinkle Patton. He died given his life for the Congederate cause, dying at his
home in Clarke County of typhoid pneumonia contracted in camp at Columbus, MS as a member of Company E., 37th
Mississippi Regiment. Sarah's maiden name was Hinkle.

*Note stone was broken in about 6 pieces and could not make out date of birth.
Enclosed tomb of bricks and mortar with a rounded top. Particularly opened at one end. No inscriptions of any kind. Adult
sized grave
*Note. Some of the Barber graves had footstones and were not in order. Headstones were broken and need to be
cleaned
